CHAKWAL: A man killed his two minor sons, aged seven months and two years, in the Chakral Village near Chakwal Saturday night.
According to police officials, residents of the village had said Shakeel Abbas’ wife had left and gone to her parents due to a fight she had with her husband. Shakeel had visited her at his in-laws on Saturday where the couple had fought again and Shakeel took both his sons with him.
“He stopped on his way home when he was travelling on a rough part of the road, held the boys by the legs and threw them to the ground repeatedly,” said Investigation Officer Syed Ali.
Seven-month-old Farman Haider died on the spot and 2-year-old Abu Zar later died at the District Headquarters Hospital.
The children’s relatives went to the hospital when they heard the news while a team from the Saddar Police Station went to the village to arrest Shakeel, who did not make an attempt to run away.
“He wept as we arrested him,” said SHO Zaraat Baloch, adding that the accused was a daily wager.
